Central Vacuum Systems with Powerful Lamb Ametek Motor

We have got some really good news for our customers.  As of Friday, we now feature not one, but two central vacuum power units with the latest 8.4" Lamb Ametek motor.  This motor is a powerhouse and now our customers can purchase a filtered or bagged unit with this motor. 

Recently we became the US distributors for the RhinoVac.  The RhinoVac 511R-XLS is a "beast" with 110" of sealed suction and 166 cfm.  This filtered unit has a teflon coated inverted bag. The RhinoVac is also priced lower than comparable filtered units.   Maybe you are one of those customers that prefers a paper bag unit, well, we have good news for you...

As of Friday, Central Vacuum Stores now offers their popular Imperium central vacuum systems with disposable bags, and the brand new Imperium CV800 not only offers a disposable bag, but the same powerful 8.4" Lamb motor found in the RhinoVac. (110" sealed suction and 166cfm) You'll notice our new bagged Imperiums are emerald green.  That's how you'll be able to differentiate them from our other Imperium units (our cyclonic, commercial, and filtered Imperium units will still be our signature ruby red).  This unit uses the Maxflo Hepa Filter Bag for superior filtration and dust containment.

In describing these units I only mentioned sealed suction and cfm in the specs for these machines.  As I've mentioned in previous blogs, AirWatts is a strange rating.  First, it's a formula, and you can find it all over the web (I even think we have the formula somewhere on our website).  However, if you plug in the numbers, the formula doesn't work.  That's because AirWatts comes from the cfm and sealed suction numbers taken in specific test environments.  And it's just kind of dicey.  You can find three units, all with identical specs and the same motor, yet all have different AirWatts.

The ASTM says Maximum Air Watts is the way to measure how well a vacuum system will clean.  Unfortunately, the ASTM doesn't give us the specs, the manufacturers do and they all test in their own way...some at the motor, some at a 2" opening, and some without the dirt can attached. MD Manufacturing, a leader in the central vacuum industry, says that the statistics for maximum air watts comes from the manufacturer and the numbers may not be reliable because they aren't tested under conditions commonly used. MD recommends you know the opening size of the attachment most often used and then find the vacuum's air watts at that exact opening size...

All that to say, if you are comparing units and their specs (cfm, inches of water lift, and airwatts) are close, then you are comparing units that for all practical purposes are equal in power.

At Central Vacuum Stores we love to promote activities that encourage exercise, because we know that is another element of a healthy lifestyle.  This year we again sponsored two little league teams for Baypoint Little League in St. Petersburg.  We also sponsored two triathlon teams in the St. Anthony's Triathlon.  Roger and I are proud to say that three of our kids, and one son-in-law, were members of these teams! 

Dawn and Faith, our daughters,  were both doing the swimming leg of the race.  The swim is in the open water of Tampa Bay.  Unfortunately, we had incredibly windy weather that weekend, and the race officials canceled the swim portion of the race (first time ever in the history of the St. Anthony's Triathlon) because the bay was so choppy the lifeguards in kayaks couldn't get out into the bay.  The professional triathletes were still allowed to swim, but when they got out of the water they were commenting about how bad it was.  After she saw the chop, Dawn, our sensible daughter, mother of four, was relieved to hear they had canceled the swim.   Faith, our bold adventurer, said she was disappointed...she would have done the swim if they would have let her.  Luke, our son-in-law, felt like he didn't prepare quite enough for the 24 mile bike.  He said he knew it was pretty bad when he realized he was looking for things to hit in the road so he would have a flat tire!  On the other hand, Drew, our other biker, actually filled in for his daughter who was unable to participate at the last minute.  He had a blast and was ready to enter some more races.  And finally Micah, our son, was just glad he beat Wendy's time in the run! (Even though he is 20 years her junior, she usually runs 6 miles a couple of times a week).    Either way we are proud of our folks for preparing and participating in such a strenuous event.  One thing you can be sure of...you won't find any slackers at Central Vacuum Stores.

In February we ordered a replacement motor for our older Eureka central vac from your company. Just wanted to let you know how utterly PLEASED we are with the outcome. Delivery was so fast -ordered late on a Friday and received it be Wed/Thurs way before we expected it to arrive. Your prices are super too. Your motor was $175. Our local supplier wanted $229 and then offered to install it for an additional $39 even though it was sooo easy to do - you even give instructions! We don't usually buy much over the internet. Since we have received the new powerhead, we have enjoyed it 1000 times better than our older powerhead.  We have been using your Imperium central vacuum for 5 years now and has outperformed others brands and companies we have used in other homes.  This new powerhead has been great on Hardwood, Travertine and different pile heights of our carpet.  Are kids say using it is easier and gets into areas better than our older one.  I recommend this powerhead to everyone.

This is Ray M.  from Carson City, Nevada writing.  Just wanted to let you fine folks know that in today's (Wednesday) mail, my drive belt for the Eltrolux Afuera power head arrived and I've just finished installing it.  It fit perfectly and the power head works once again.  My wife is also pleased as I and the Afuera will once again be available to "do the carpets" on our normal cleaning day on Saturday.
My compliments to you and the fine, customer service oriented staff, at Central Vacuum Stores. The drive belt broke last Saturday, I couldn't find a replacement belt at any local repair shop, the Electrolux web site is worthless and the installing contractor has yet to return my phone message.  Your company was "Johnny on the spot!"  Very good web site, great response, quick delivery and excellent customer service.  You're my source in the future.  Loved the story about your business and the Ambrose family on the web page.  You've earned both my business and loyalty.  Good job!

I sent Luke an e-mail in the middle of February telling him how much my wife and I are enjoying the Imperium CV3200 and how much we appreciated his support throughout the process of selecting a replacement central vac.  I was also able to install it myself, and believe me, I am no handyman!  I am also glad we purchased the Change Out/Finish Kit because I realized I had to replace some of the old tubing.  You people at Central Vacuum Stores were really great!  Thanks for your help.  The Imperium CV3200 is much more than I ever expected.  It is so powerful and quiet.  Our old central vac was so loud as to be annoying.  The Imperium is so quiet that I can barely hear it running.

I cannot thank your company enough for the patient, expert help I received when I made my inquiry to you.  I believe it was a lady named Debra who assisted me in my online chat.  She was so nice and patient.  She knew exactly what to ask in order to get me the replacement hose and tool kit I needed for my existing central vacuum system.  I have to tell you - I was extremely nervous about ordering this over the internet, as Sears (who installed my original system) was adamant that there was absolutely no way possible to get replacement hoses and attachments for a 20+ year-old central vacuum.  Well, you certainly proved Sears wrong!  The replacement hose and tools are a 100 times better than the original stuff that came with my system, and the way you treated me was 1,000 times better than Sears!  You have a loyal customer for life.  I urge anyone out there to deal exclusively with your company - !

My wife and I had invested quite a bit of money to upgrade our central vacum system in our new home and since neither of us had ever owned one, we were very excited to start using it.  With Murphy's Law in full effect, we had failed to realize that the newer hose didn't fit the older wall outlets.  All I can say is that after months of getting the run-around from several other sources, it took minutes for Central Vacuum Stores to save the day with the perfect adaptor. The reason I shop online is because of convenience. My central vacuum unit at home failed and I needed a replacement. I never used Central Vacuum Stores before. Ordering a Eureka replacement motor for our central vac from your company was a very easy and satisfying experience.
When researching the internet for a motor, I found it rather discouraging that the majority of companies said they had parts for our vac but, in reality, only carried filters, belts, and such which wasn't what we needed. When I finally saw that your company could supply us with a motor "Halleliuah".It was only $175.no shipping charge ...You not only saved us big bucks on the motor but also supplied the directions online telling us how to remove and replace it ourselves. Sooo simple.  I must add, I had placed my order on a Friday late afternoon, probably after you were already closed. Last week we had an apple pie baking contest at the store in celebration of Mother's Day.  Those of us who wanted to enter brought in an apple pie during the week.  Everyone sampled and awarded points based on taste, appearance, etc. (Kind of like the central vac version of Iron Chef, and the secret ingredient was apples).  Our most unusual entry was by our Web Development Manager, Cathy.  She brought in apple muffins.  Dawn (our oldest daughter who works from home answering our requests for quotes) and Faith (our youngest daughter who is our resident Engineer) both entered apple pies, as did I.  Faith entered a caramel apple pie, Dawn entered a traditional apple pie, and I entered a caramel apple pie with a crisp topping that included praline pecans, caramel,  and a light dusting of dark chocolate shavings. There was quite a rivalry going on.  In fact, on Thursday night before the final judging we had a family dinner (Our son, Thomas, was home for a week before returning to college).  Let me just say that night there was a lot of trash talk going around about apple pies.  We were all sure we would win.  Well, on Friday, our Administrator, better known as Pastry Chef Marilynn, brought in her apple pie, and I guess she blew us all out of the water.  She brought in the ultimate apple pie...as American as it gets.
